About TrilliumIn 1974, David and Kay Syre formed Trillium Corporation in Bellingham, Washington, out of a desire to make a life for their family and valued associates in Northwest Washington. Trillium has evolved from a Pacific Northwest real estate company to a global investment firm with a strategically diverse portfolio, primarily in real estate and forestry interests in the United States and South America.
Trillium has demonstrated consistent leadership in balancing the requirements of environmental sensitivity, social responsibility, and economic productivity. As public awareness of this need for sustainability has increased, Trillium has been more assertive in uniting these sometimes competing interests. Trillium has a long history of environmental stewardship, which includes a 20,000-acre land exchange in Northwest Washington that resulted in protection of watersheds, preservation of old growth forests and prime wildlife habitats, and increased public access to forests. They have also provided hundreds of acres of land for preservation and scientific research, community parks, bald eagle communal night roosts, heron habitats, and Peregrine falcon roosting sites. The sustainable forestry operations in South America offer unique responses to enviro-social concerns. Before beginning work on the project, Trillium developed Stewardship Principles that commit the company to uphold very high standards for environmental protection of the forest and meeting social obligations. Trillium is committed to demonstrating its experience and leadership in environmental stewardship through current and emerging projects. Their mission is to responsibly develop and manage all of their business initiatives creatively while balancing social, environmental, and economic benefits.
