David Syre, Founder & Chairman of the Board

David Syre is the visionary leader who has guided Trillium Corporation from a regional real estate development company in 1974, to an international global investment company with a strategically diverse portfolio. In large part, Trillium's success has been due to David's expertise at structuring highly complex legal transactions and financial planning for real estate and resource opportunities.

David has been active in a diverse range of professional and community projects throughout his career. His involvement has included serving as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Denver Union Terminal; Board Member of Whatcom Museum of History and Art; Board Member of the World Forestry Center; Board of Trustees for the Nature Conservancy; Board Member of Peoples Bank; and Board of Directors of the Bellingham Bay Foundation.

Prior to founding Trillium Corporation, David was in a private law practice and commercial banking. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Washington State University and a law degree from Gonzaga University.

Jonathan Syre, President & CEO

As President & CEO of Trillium Corporation, Jonathan provides leadership in the overall administration of the company, consisting of real estate development, forest products, timber and hospitality. Jonathan is instrumental in identifying and recommending growth strategies, internal organizational structuring and determining development direction for the corporation.

Since 1988, Jonathan has held several management positions involving all aspects of real estate development, administration and asset management.

Jonathan resides in Bellingham, Washington, and holds a degree of Business Administration from the University of Montana.

Marcus Schumacher, Vice President - Finance

As Vice President of Finance, Marcus is responsible for the structure and execution of Trillium's business and real estate transactions with emphasis on accomplishing business, legal and tax planning objectives. Marcus has been closely involved with the due diligence, structure, sales, financing, documentation and closing of large acquisitions. He plays a significant role in managing borrowing, lending, accounting and audit relationships and oversees federal, state and local tax planning.

Before joining Trillium in 1998, Marcus worked for a local and regional public accounting firm, specializing in corporate, international, and high-net worth individual tax planning and compliance.

Marcus resides in Ferndale, Washington, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and minor in Business Administration from Western Washington University.

Chris Benner, Vice President - Real Estate Development

As Vice President of Real Estate Development, Chris oversees the development strategies and overall management of Trillium's real estate assets. He has over 15 years of experience in all areas of real estate development including marketing, financing, planning and design, and construction.

Chris played a key role in the conversion of 60 acres in downtown Denver into a mixed-use project incorporating residential units, retail, office park, parkland and an intermodal transportation hub.

Prior to joining Trillium in 2007, Chris acted as Vice President of local development company, Cabochon Construction.

Chris lives in Bellingham, Washington, and graduated from the University of Phoenix with a degree in Business Administration.
